What is kombucha and where did it come from?

Sweet tea that is fermented in a culture of yeast and bacteria. Kombucha most likely originated most likely in China over two thousand years ago. It was known as ‘The Tea of Immortality’.

Why do people drink it?

It tastes good and makes you feel good. The main reason people drink kombucha is because the combination of probiotics and acids help support a healthy digestive system and overall health. It also helps to detoxify the body and boosts immunity. That’s why we started brewing it ourselves! Other health benefits of kombucha come from the organic enzymes, vitamins, and antioxidants.

What is a scoby?

A SCOBY stands for the Symbiotic Culture of Bacteria and Yeast. The SCOBY is the visible living part of kombucha, although the liquid is living too. Although some people refer to a SCOBY as a mushroom, it is not.  Instead it is a cellulose structure and is full of the beneficial probiotics.

How is your kombucha retailed?

Our kombucha is sold on tap and we encourage a reusable bottle system. Customers can fill their own bottle or can also buy it by the cup. We also sell by the recyclable 16 oz can
